Sony Ericsson is set to release two new smartphones, the Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro in the Middle East in Q3 2011.

Both phones are powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, run on Google's Android Gingerbread 2.3, use Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine for imaging and display and have HD video recording (720p) capabilities.
They also both have a 3-inch scratch resistant, multi-touch glass screen.
The improved user-interface on both phones is now designed to show up to 16 apps on the homepage and they have access to the Android Marketplace which features approximately 160,000 apps.
"People are becoming increasingly reliant on their smartphones for instant communication. Built on the success of the original mini-series, the new range runs on the latest Android operating system providing a flexible interface for better communication. These turbo-charged smartphones address the needs of today's user by providing several feature-rich applications with a smart and easy-to-use design/device," said Rudiger Odenbach, general manager, Middle East and Africa, Sony Ericsson.
The new Xperia mini pro has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, fast type and send functionality and a smart keyboard which activates predictive text when the keyboard is slid open.
The Xperia mini pro comes pre-loaded with Office Suite and McAfee antivirus software, designed to allow safe document management on the move.
Both phones also have a native Facebook app, which is accessible from most areas of the phone, such as the photo gallery, music player, phonebook and calendar. Users can like, share and comment via the app.
