Lenovoon the weekend quietly started selling the IdeaPad S205. The crossover ultraportable it showed at CES starts at $499 but has performance well above netbooks through its 1.6GHz AMD E-350, whose Fusion roots give it a Radeon HD 6310 graphics core that can handle 1080p video and HDMI video out. A 320GB hard drive and 3GB of RAM also put it closer to full-size notebooks in baseline features.
Two trim levels sit above the base and move up first to 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive on a $579 model. A $599 model adds built-in Bluetooth missing on the earlier two systems as well as a 750GB disk. Customizations are few and mostly focus on extras like Lenovo's video dock and external mice.
