Samsung has delivered a new version of ts Galaxy 10.1 tablet to the FCC for certification. Identified as the GT-P7510, the device has also received interoperability certification from the WiFi Alliance. Samsung is still just rolling out its original 10.1 tablet.
The new Galaxy 10.1 is 2.3 mm tablet thinner than its predecessor (8.6mm vs 10.9mm). By comparison, the iPad 2 is 8.8mm thick. Samsung has announced that the Wi-Fi-only version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will arrive in US stores on June 8, priced at $500 for the 16GB version and $600 for the 32GB model. A 16GB iPad 2 with Wi-Fi nearly matches that price at $499, and the 32GB iPad 2 costs $599.
