Acer AC700 Chromebook Hits Amazon

Amazon has begun selling Acer's brand new Chrome OS-based netbook ‘AC700' via its online store. This mini laptop retails for $349. In case you didn't know, the AC700 packs an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 LED-backlit display, a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N570 dual-core processor, an Intel GMA 3150 graphics card, a 2GB DDR3 RAM, a 16GB SSD, a 1.3MP HD webcam, a 4-in-1 card reader, WiFi, 2x USB ports, an HDMI port, a 6-cell battery and runs on Google Chrome OS. Samsung Sliding PC 7 up for pre-order at Amazon

Samsung's Sliding PC 7 hybrid is now up for pre-order at Amazon. No shipping dates are yet available, either from Samsung or Amazon, though the price is set at $650. The device's 10-inch, 720p touchscreen display slides open to reveal a hardware QWERTY keyboard.

Processing power comes from a 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 along with 2GB of RAM onboard and a 32GB solid state drive. Front 1.3- and rear 3.0-megapixel cameras are present, as is Wi-Fi but no 3G. The device ships with Windows 7 Home Premium and weighs a relatively light 2.2lbs.

The hybrid was originally expected to cost $700 and arrive in March.
